Job Overview

Roles & Responsibilities

Specifically, this role requires an excellent candidate who will:

Process daily transactions including cash handling

Maintain general ledgers

Prepare monthly financial and statistical reports

EHT, HST Reporting

Remitting corporation tax installments

Run payroll and payroll remittances

Complete monthly bank reconciliations

Perform month-end and year-end journal entries and close

Work directly with the company’s auditors to prepare year-end filings.

Supervise seasonal accounting assistant

Our ideal candidate has the following experience and traits:

Exposure to high volume retail and/or hospitality enterprise transactions

Proficiency with detailed accounting software, Sage 300 or equivalent

Expertise in hospitality and with retail point of sale systems

Strong to excellent spreadsheet skills including pivot tables, v-lookup, and macros

3+ years’ with A/P, A/R, bank & G/L & balance sheet reconciliations

Payroll systems and automation

inventory analysis

Business analysis including cash flows, supplier management, cost scrutiny, department audits, operational efficiencies

Attention to detail and deadlines

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills particularly with respect to systems and process flow.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Accounting designation preferred.

Other experience and qualifications applicable
