Our rotation-based CPA Program offers candidates the unique opportunity to work in multiple diverse businesses during a 36-month term. We are an Approved Training Office with CPA Ontario and our program is designed to give candidates broad business exposure and the opportunity to progressively build technical skills and develop business knowledge under the mentorship of experienced accounting professionals.

Through this program, you will:

Work and communicate with people across all levels of the organization

Perform amongst a variety of teams and develop new skillsets and sources of knowledge

Experience different functional groups, work environments, and office locations

Build a business network with individuals in many facets of the organization

Demonstrate leadership through academic, volunteer, and/or extra-curricular activities


During a 36-month period, our CPA Candidates are exposed to at least three different rotations, all of which will contribute to professional development, business knowledge, and the practical work experience required for becoming a CPA. Each CPA Candidate will work in at least two of our Company’s diverse businesses, which include:

  • George Weston Limited
  • Loblaw Companies Limited
  • Shoppers Drug Mart
  • Holt Renfrew
  • President’s Choice Financial
  • Weston Foods Canada

While rotating through our businesses, the Candidates will also gain experience in at least three departments, which can include (but are not limited to):

  • Financial Reporting
  • Internal Audit
  • Treasury
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Internal Controls
  • Tax

Rotation details related to the specific business, functional area, location, and rotation order will be determined based on both candidate interest and business need.


To be considered for this program, you must meet the following requirements as of August 31, 2019:

The academic prerequisites for admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP)

  • A minimum overall average (75% or greater) in the courses comprising the academic prerequisites with a passing grade in each course
  • The ability to commence full-time employment in Canada.
