Who is eHealth Saskatchewan?

eHealth Saskatchewan is a Treasury Board Crown Corporation with the mandate to lead Saskatchewan Electronic Health Record (EHR) planning and strategy for the Province of Saskatchewan. We have worked with our healthcare partners to make electronic the vast majority of patient healthcare information in areas such as labs, pharmacies, radiology, surgery, emergency rooms, hospitals, and we also work in partnership with the Saskatchewan Medical Association to implement Electronic Medical Records in physician clinics. Our vision is “Empowering patients, and enabling care” with a mission to get the electronic information into the hands of patients and their healthcare team. This would electronically connect the different streams of healthcare so patient information flows between healthcare providers and the patient.

The Business Analyst Role (Intermediate)

To put these solutions in place, we are looking for an Intermediate Business Analyst with customer focus and value knowing that the work they do has a direct impact on the lives of patients and their families. The type of work will vary every day, but will revolve primarily around documenting business processes and requirements and specifications, and providing support and training for technology solutions.  

A key to success in this role is building strong relationships, having a strong customer focus, a knack for solving complex IT problems, and making connections (knowing who else to involve and when). To make that happen, you will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a dynamic, complex technology driven environment. Within our environment, the situations you will encounter aren’t black and white, so you must be proficient in solving complex problems, delivering solutions, and enjoy ‘working within the gray’. Proven experience and skills in effective communication, problem solving, documentation standards, and a rigor for change management protocols and quality control are also required. Expertise is required for best practices for application use and future integrations in clinical settings such as Medical Imaging, Primary Health Care and EHR Viewer.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a diploma/degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent, and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional Designation supplemented with several years of experience in a similar role. Extensive knowledge and experience developing and integrating SharePoint solutions and a strong technical background is required. Healthcare Clinical experience (or Health Sector related business knowledge) anor ITIL Certification is considered an asset.
