Major Purpose 

Reporting to the Sales Manager, Business Development, the Business Development Specialist (BDS) is responsible for generating new B2B SaaS opportunities for our sales team. You will research and identify potential customers for our products and conduct telephone campaigns to generate new business opportunities. The BDS works closely with our Account Executive team by creating and transferring them warm leads to close.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is described as a go-getter with high energy, driven to succeed and not afraid to pick up the phone and make cold calls. Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential clients for our products
  • Follow-up with and qualify leads as well as conduct an initial assessment of their requirements
  • Develop the sales pipeline by conducting cold calls and scheduling meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives
  • Work with Account Executives and the marketing team to support their prospecting programs
  • Engage clients in discussions regarding their business needs
  • Track daily activities and results using Salesforce
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and provide market feedback based on interactions with clients
  • Other duties as required
  • 1+ years of experience in a business development/demand generation role, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Proven track record of prospecting and qualifying warm leads
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software an asset
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
