Communicates with fellow members of the dD Advisory team to plan and schedule content for our various audiences, stakeholders, and the public.
Works with the dD team and staff to generate new, innovative ideas and ways to implement them, bringing ideas to the team on an ongoing basis.
Develops, writes and edits dynamic and engaging content for a variety of platforms including longer-form content (print magazines/ articles, brochures, speeches and video script, press releases, e-mails, reports and promotional material), as well as for the digital and online space (e-newsletters, blogs, web stories, social media).
Gathers internal information through effective communication with dD team and staff and translates into effective copy.
Ensures anything published by dD adheres to our brand guidelines for a consistent brand experience (tone, voice, look and feel) among our audiences.
Collaborates and coordinates planning with authors, designers, printers and other suppliers as needed on various projects.
Liaises with the printer on the finer details to get publication printed and distributed at agreed upon times.
Ensures all projects are developed on schedule, on brand, and on budget.
Performs other duties as assigned and related to the needs of the dD team.
A portfolio demonstrating work experience is prerequisite to the interview process.
A strong and creative writer and editor with excellent and precise attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A natural story-teller who can take good “raw material”, pull it into a narrative and make it informative, compelling, persuasive, and interesting to audiences.
Must demonstrate excellence in grammar, syntax, linguistic clarity, style, and language sensitivity.
Ability to work well and communicate with all levels of management, staff and constituents, inside and outside the organization.
Ability to stay informed about, and share with team members, emerging trends in communication.
Strong interpersonal/ communications, analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Intermediate to expert knowledge of:
Social Media platforms
HTML, CSS, Web text editing
Knowledge and experience using the following an asset:
Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop
Fluent in English
Knowledge of multiple languages an asset (e.g. French)
Post-secondary degree or diploma in English, Writing or relevant field.
Preference to a communications degree or diploma
Relevant work experience (2-3 years ideally)
Working knowledge of or experience in a non-profit or charitable organization, an asset
