Our Head of Lower School is responsible for guiding the direction and growth of the campus, leading staff and working in collaboration with the administrative team. The Head of School is the face of the campus, who must work to ensure the highest quality of personalized education, communicate effectively with families and maintain a rigorous academic and extra-curricular program.

Job Description

Ensure that staff understand the Ministry of Education policies and Ontario curriculum expectations
Hire, supervise and evaluate staff
Supervise the selection of class schedues, assessments, graduation requirements, and all aspects of the school’s academic program for grades 5-10
Optimize the physical learning environment and technology in all instructional areas
Organize student activities and extracurricular opportunities
Administer the school’s discipline policies and standards of conduct
Manage the school’s support systems, such as counseling, academic support, health and wellness, etc.
Help students develop career planning using My BluePrint
Oversee student OSRs and ensure that they are maintained according to the Ministry of Education’s standards
Read and analyze psycho-educational assessments and develop support plans for students
Meet regularly and foster positive relationships with parents
Update and maintain information on student data information system
Oversee school safety programs, including emergency procedures, transportation, fire drills, etc.
Understand and oversee budgeting, expenses, investments, and cash flow
Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of the builfinhs, grounds, etc.
Supervise and assist the admissions functions of the school, including recruitment programs, internal marketing, external outreach, etc.
Supervise the admissions decision-making process
