Roles & Responsibilities

What we’re looking for:

  • 5 years experience with Compensation and Benefits, with a slightly heavier focus on pension benefits
  • Strong MS Office Suite experience, need to be able to do vlookups & pivot tables in Excel, as well as create professional and meaningful PPT decks
  • Team player, works well with others
  • Strategic, out of the box thinker, must be “in the know” with Comp & Benefits subject matter
  • This is a very deadline driven team, needs someone who can execute
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Consultant, Benefits & Wealth Programs supports the overall management of the client’s Benefits & Wealth Accumulation Programs. This role will also support the Compensation portfolio as necessary.


  • Act as a resource to internal client groups in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures;
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external program vendors to ensure policy compliance, develop and report success metrics, and proactively identify and address issues;
  • Monitor data and reporting with the goal of:

o Providing value based analytics

o proactive, value-focused communication to internal client groups and business partners;

o identification of trends and development of solutions to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness; and

o alignment / translation of data into internal HR/Total Rewards metrics

  • Support the development and execution of communication material, including sense & response management (identify and address plan trends through targeted and broad-based initiatives);
  • Liaise with internal client groups and our external providers to identify opportunities for improvements – including act as a key resource in the development and execution of changes;
  • Support day to day provider management; and
  • Support and lead projects as required


  • University degree or equivalent education (Business/Human Resources preferred) or equivalent experience;
  • A professional designation such as Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or CEBS designation would be an asset;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Compensation & Benefits role. Experience gained from working in a medium-to large-sized national organization would be an asset;
  • A strong understanding of general Human Resources practices and related legislation;
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and knowledge of HR Systems would be an asset;
  • Excellent written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate and present issues to a diverse client group with the purpose of identifying resolutions; and
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment, balancing the activities of many priorities/projects at any one time.
