Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary: This role provides full-cycle recruitment expertise from talent sourcing, attracting top performing candidates and providing exceptional interviewing and hiring best practices to ensure we are hiring great employees to join the Martinrea Team!

Required Education and Experience:

  • College degree in Human Resources Management or similar field; or equivalent Human Resources experience; Human Resources designation preferred
  • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Minimum 5-7 years Recruitment experience in manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking System and Candidate Management Systems
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency- based etc.)
  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference checks etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High level of time management and ability to lead Recruitment Strategy for open positions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Strong Knowledge of HR Recruitment Best Practices
  • Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, employment law and compliance

Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement overall recruiting strategy for difficult to fill positions
  • Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards/ newspapers/colleges etc.
  • Source and recruit top performing professionals by using various sources ie. Linked IN, social media etc.
  • Strategically partnering with HR Managers to improve productivity and reduce turnover
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applicants
  • Conduct in-person and phone interviews with candidates using reliable recruitment and selection tools/methods
  • Perform background and reference checks
  • Track Recruitment Matrix’s for open positions
  • Maintain Candidate database
  • Apply HR Recruitment Best Practices in order to attract, recruit and retain the most qualified candidate
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Work Environment:

  • Both office setting and production environment
  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Overtime as required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
