Job Overview

Job Title Instructional Designer What We Need: We are seeking services an Instructional Designer will analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning and development solutions for the company and help establish our internal standards of practice for Instructional Design. Work directly with appropriate departments or SMEs regarding project material, subject matter, and timelines will be critical for project success. This role will be solely responsible for the end-to-end project cycle, including project management, and review the work of and mentor other designers, as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

Things you need to have: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Distance Learning, or related field Formal education and/or experience in IT technical subject matter required At least 5 years’ experience in instructional design, distance learning, corporate training, or a directly related field At least 2 years of project management experience Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following tools: Articulate Storyline, Lectera, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and related SCORM compliant production tools Demonstrated experience to communicate technical concepts and processes using clear, simple language and visuals Experience conducting quality analysis reviews of online instructional materials Excellent writing and editing experience If would be great if you had: Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related field Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Visio, HTML, Photoshop, Dreamweaver Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.) What you’ll be doing: Lead content projects through the design lifecycle from scoping, research and analysis, design, development, and launch; providing clear timelines through all phases, communicating with key partners, and selecting appropriate measurement for successful implementation; Identify learning objectives, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies to deliver content including consulting with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and content requirements; Manage the development of instructional materials (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, story boards, navigational text, etc.) that transform technical information into professionally written, engaging instruction; Direct and guide learning design for internal and/or external subject matter experts seeking to produce and publish technical content; Create evaluation framework to identify and monitor metrics that inform and validate content quality, member usage; business impact, and scalability; Manage program deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines; Be the voice of the customer, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts and help our team iterate and improve on our content offering. Proactively partner with subject matter experts to develop effective training programs.
