Roles & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth market, industry and company research 

Build comprehensive and complex financial valuation models, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, and precedent transaction, without the use of templates

Prepare company, industry, and market briefing documents

Assist with preparation of engagement letters and agency agreements

Use the S&P Capital IQ web portal and plug-ins to conduct research and financial analysis

Apply knowledge of accounting principles to inform financial analysis, including International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to complete computer-based tasks

Use and create macros and Visual Basic to increase efficiency when working with Excel and PowerPoint

 Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Finance or a related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset) 

Enrollment or completion of the CFA is considered an asset

1-3 years of investment banking experience

Must be able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment

Must have a positive, professional attitude and demonstrate professionalism at all times

Must be able to work well independently with an ability to work collaboratively with others

Must be able to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision

Should be highly motivated, independent but able to work within a team in an environment that is fast paced and rapidly changing
