We are looking for an experienced Hydrogeologist (Junior/Intermediate) , to join our team in Atlantic Canada .
Working with the hydrogeology group across Atlantic Canada, the specific roles and responsibilities of this opportunity are:
Plan, coordinate and conduct hydrogeological investigation programs including drilling, test pitting and installation of monitoring wells;
Design and implement groundwater sampling programs;
Manage, analyze, and interpret a variety of environmental datasets;
Complete hydrogeological assessments for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects;
Complete hydrogeological investigations for environmental impact assessments;
Oversee aquifer testing and analysis (slug tests and pumping tests);
Develop hydrogeologic conceptual models;
Develop groundwater flow and solute transport numerical models;
Write technical reports for hydrogeological and environmental studies that summarize the methods, results, conclusions and recommendations;
Assist in preparing technical proposals including the work plans, scope, and budgets; and,
Support ongoing business development to expand hydrogeological and environmental consulting practice.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A university degree in geoscience or environmental engineering with a focus on hydrogeology (a master’s degree is preferred);
Minimum of three years of experience in hydrogeology;
Experience on a variety of projects and multiple sectors is preferred;
Eligible for registration with professional association (e.g., APENS, APGNS or APEGNB);
Strong technical writing and communication skills;
Experience in hydrogeologic analysis and interpretation;
Experience in evaluation of soil and groundwater chemistry (organic and inorganic);
Working knowledge of evaluating groundwater data with respect to environmental regulations;
Demonstrated ability to use numerical groundwater flow and solute transport models and associated hydrogeology/geology software tools (e.g., MODFLOW/MT3D, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, Groundwater Vistas, PEST, AQTESOLV); and,
Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:
Hydrogeological/geological field data collection;
Fractured rock hydrogeology;
GIS and AutoCAD.
Candidates should also possess:
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
Strong ability to work independently and in groups;
Results-oriented attitude with the ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary environment;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
