Roles & Responsibilities

What you will do:

Lead client engagements

Work closely with other members of our team as a senior team member on various international tax advisory projects involving Canadian foreign affiliates.

Plan and organize teams for the preparation of tax returns and conducting and presenting tax research.

Advise on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues.

Review the work of staff for accuracy and completeness.

Become part of the tax engagement team in servicing the planning and compliance needs of clients.

Provide ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.

Work with other office members in attracting new work to the firm.

At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need extra time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.

What you bring to the role: 

Minimum 4 years specializing in Tax in a public accounting or law firm with strong technical skills. International tax experience is an asset, but candidates without international tax experience will be considered if candidates have experience dealing with complex technical issues and transactions

Professional Accounting or Legal Designation (LLB, CA, CMA or CGA)

Completion of the In depth Tax Course

Excellent people management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to research and write utilizing electronic tax tools

Mentoring skills to provide others with opportunities to take on new challenges and responsibilities

Excellent client service skills with the ability to understand the clients’ businesses
