Job Overview

Roles & Responsibilities

The Operations Specialist is responsible for:

Ensuring the proper controls are in place to reconcile trades, commission, and/or other transactions pertaining to Mutual Funds, Equity and Fixed Income products

Create procedures, Process Maps and when necessary process documents for accuracy and the processing of Customer Account Transfers, Cash Receipts & Disbursements, Securities and Insurance.

Process Improvements and the implementation of new technology 

Maintaining accurate statistics

Communicating effectively both within head office and with branches

Support projects: create and run test scripts, project implementation

Position Requirements 

University and/or College education is ideal 

2 + years of experience in the financial services industry is preferred

Ability to process transactions, accounts, and documents in a timely and efficient manner

Strong organizational skills

Ability to multi-task

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to apply procedures and guidelines consistently is required

Ability to apply risk parameters around a varying type of transactions

Strong customer service skills

High degree of flexibility and adaptive to change

Excellent written and verbal skills

Strong Excel skills (formulas, macros, VBA)
