Job Summary

Assist IT project managers in the execution and control of projects in order to deliver quality projects on time and on budget as per customer satisfaction, and support maturing the IT Project Control Office.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and control integrated project plans.
  • Assist project managers in the development of planning structure, procedures and costs.
  • Assist managers in developing and controlling the following, but not limited to, project management processes:
  • Scope Management
  • Schedule Management (dates, efforts, milestones,
  • Financial Management (budgets, forecasts, variances,
  • Quality Control
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Risks Management
  • Issues Management
  • Communication
  • Status Reporting
  • Documentation
  • Provide expertise and guidance to the managers in the utilization of project management tools and reporting capability
  • Strong knowledge of PMI processes
  • Manage the time reporting process to ensure Managers and IT personnel adhere to
  • May be asked to document activities for continuous improvement projects using flowcharting and procedure writing techniques.
  • Develop & support tools to help project management process
  • Works within standard operating procedures, under a moderate degree of supervision
  • Begin to manage medium to moderately complex projects
  • Coach and mentor others on project management issues
  • Seek and provide candid and timely feedback to improve performance
  • Foster teamwork and innovation by involving others in problem solving
  • Has decision-making authority to deliver on accountabilities of job/role
  • Build internal relationships with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Project Control officer/administrator
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good written and oral communication skills (bilingualism is required)
  • PMI certification and Agile methodology an asset
  • Experience in project management report development (in Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Experience with project costing and monthly financial reporting
  • Organized, methodical with rigorous work approach
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work in crisis situations and in multi-tasks mode
  • Strong knowledge of Jira, project planning tool like MS project, etc.
  • Good knowledge of SharePoint 
  • Knowledge of SQL (an asset)
