Job Overview

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director – Network Operations within the Partners Solutions roaming team, you will be responsible for managing the Wireless Roaming financial process from contribution to strategy development to forecasting, budgeting, monthly reporting and ad hoc analysis supporting specific business initiatives being driven by the roaming team.


Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of month end reporting activities for the wireless roaming portfolio; you will be responsible for preparation of all journal entries and variance analysis
  • Manage the monthly roaming settlement processes
  • Prepare monthly triage forecasts, strat checks & annual budgeting
  • Prepare and present roaming financial reports to senior team members
  • Collaborate extensively with business/operations stakeholders to understand new roaming initiatives and evaluate impacts to financial reporting and planning
  • Co-ordinate and liaison with internal/external auditors, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), accounting policies & revenue assurance to ensure adequate revenue recognition and system controls
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis requests from senior management team
  • Communicate closely with finance peers, and be Single-Point-of-Contact (SPOC) for all matters related to roaming financials
  • Recognize, recommend and execute process improvement opportunities

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is an asset specifically Wireless Roaming Settlement activity
  • Advanced skill level with accounting and analysis tools such as Microsoft (MS) Excel, SAP, Hyperion
  • Proficiency with monthly accounting processes
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful information and recommendations
  • Ability to work with senior team members (Directors & above) to evaluate and create effective financial and business operations reporting
  • Independent and proactive thinker
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge and experience in accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and activities
  • Required Professional Designation/Certification:
  • University degree
  • Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent experience
