Job Overview

Roles & Responsibilities


Play an active role in shaping and executing the Tax L&D strategy; 

Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including members of the tax practice and other internal firm service teams;

Identify learning needs and develop appropriate learning strategies incorporating education and experiential solutions by consulting with Subject Matter Experts (SME) or outside suppliers (if required);

Consult and build commitment around recommended learning solutions, aligned to business needs;

Develop and execute implementation plans, including drafting communications, managing the translation process, liaising with local office contacts (as appropriate);

Work with practice SMEs to develop program content/project strategy using appropriate instructional design in consultation with SMEs;

Actively identify opportunities and contribute to a “one firm” approach, leading to continuous collaboration amongst L&D team members and others in HC;

Oversee and deliver instructor briefings, instructor skills training and train-the-trainer events;

· Ensure that critical success factors and overall risks are identified and proactively managed (i.e. appropriate training needs analysis performed, specific learning objectives developed, use of appropriate design and delivery platform, identification of appropriate resources, identification of appropriate target audience, timing, instructor profile, budget);·

Provide on-site management of programs as required;

Evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and projects, including overall business impact, and make recommendations for future offerings/next steps in consultation with SMEs and other key stakeholders;

Support compliance activities, as required by the business;

Manage and account for project budgets;

Coach, manage, and develop others (L&D project specialists, shared services staff);

Source, negotiate and work with outside suppliers to develop appropriate, cost effective programs;

Leverage the PwC Global Network to share ideas, best practices and content, as appropriate; and

Represent L&D in various committees, meetings and work streams, including leadership meetings.


Strong consulting skills – has the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and through written communications 

Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with staff at all levels, including leadership;

Strong project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills;

An understanding of the business priorities and how they translate into L&D priorities;

A passion for client service and L&D’s role for driving business results and a distinctive client experience.

Ability to exercise judgment and ensure appropriate involvement of stakeholders;

Ability to use logic, creativity and innovation when developing solutions to problems, taking into account of any potential client impact;

Ability to utilize agile and flexible design and delivery approaches;

Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work towards tight deadlines, including last minute changes, and alignment of resources to ensure priorities are met;

Understanding of adult learning theory; learning needs and performance gap analysis, instructional design, development and implementation, and assessment/evaluation of learning;

Supervisory skills;

Understanding of change management issues;

Ability to work with technology and/or learn new software; and

Previous experience working for PwC Tax, including a working knowledge of our Tax service offerings, is considered an asset but not required.
