The Research Technologist II is responsible for applying technical knowledge and skills to perform moderately complex laboratory procedures and experiments. Assignments will be broadly outlined and frequently require some theoretical insight, the interpretation of empirical data and the ability to find and extract pertinent information from technical literature.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:
We are looking for an individual to join our in vivo functional genomics project studying pediatric brain tumors. Responsibilities will include breeding mice and genotyping of mice, assisting in the generation of novel transgenic models, managing a large colony of mice, both minor and major operative procedures on tumor bearing mice, and training/teaching graduate students to work with mouse models. Experience with flow cytometry and molecular biology will also be required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
A Master’s degree in a related field from a University or a Bachelor’s degree with experience in mouse/animal model work, or Research Technologist I with experience in these responsibilities. Experience with research using mouse models is mandatory, as is some molecular biology (PCR at a minimum).
