Jean Bédard made his debut at La Cage as a La Cage franchisee in Saint-Hyacinthe and Boucherville, and then bought the company in 1995. La Cage aux Sports’ logo made its appearance in 1998. In 2005, Sportscene Group became a principal shareholder of InterBox, allowing it to organize boxing nights to appreciative fans. Sportscene now owns a construction company, Aménagement & Design Sportscene inc. and an IT company, Sportscene Technologies, both of which service all Sportscene establishments. Since 2008, the company also owns the St. Hilaire based Sportscene Sports Complex, offering two ice-surfaces and four tennis courts, in addition to an outdoor Dek Hockey area during the summer season. With just over 2,500 restaurant and head-office employees, the commercial and financial success of La Cage aux Sports is based on three main components: quality comparable to the best chains in its class; unparalleled marketing focused on the dynamic promotion of its trademark and operations management among the most efficient in the industry. In the fall of 2013, La Cage aux Sports innovated once more with the opening of La Cage aux Sports Boucherville. A modern and sleek design concept, with an even greater focus on food and a friendly atmosphere. Here we find, amongst other things, the biggest wall screen in Canada! This new image will soon be spread to the entire chain.
