Canada’s Labour Market Stays Strong in March

The employment sector in Canada experienced a 19,400 increase in new jobs this past month, with a lot of them coming in the permanent employment category.

The current figures on the Canadian job scene depict that a lot of these new jobs came in the self-employment sector, which encompasses individuals employed in a family business without any wages attached.

The research also said that the unemployment rate increased in March to 6.7% from 6.6% previously because more and more people were in search of employment.

The nation also lost around 2.400 jobs in the services sector but saw an increase in the factory sector by adding 21,800 jobs all thanks to the ever increasing demand for manufacturing jobs since 2002.

The province of Alberta experienced the highest increase amongst states by adding around 20,700 permanent jobs in the previous month, while the province of Québec lost 17,800 jobs.

The number of jobs in the private sector increased to 13,700 between March and February, while government sector observed a 12,700 loss in jobs.
